A recently introduced feature, Telegram’s new Group Voice Chats allow users in a group to initiate a common group voice chat for all members. However, users can choose to drop out of the ongoing group chat and re-enter at any given point. To make use of this, head into any group of choice and tap on the group name. Now head to the three-dot menu on the top right and choose Start Voice Chat. This update brings improved chat previews on par with iOS. Now you can scroll through them to view the whole chat without marking it as read. New buttons have been added to let you mark the chat as read, mute it, pin it or delete it. If you like to customize your favorite chats, there is a good chance that you would appreciate custom sounds. What makes it so handy is the ability to let you set any short audio clip from a chat as a notification sound. It will make it a bit more convenient for you to identify the alerts from a specific Telegram chat. Keep in mind that the audio clip must be less than 5 seconds and up to 300KB in size.
With Telegram, you can send thousands of high-quality stickers right from the chatbox. Just tap the “sticker icon” on the left bottom, and it will show you dozens of trending stickers and masks. You can search for specific stickers and add them to your virtual keypad. In order to protect your personal information, Telegram automatically terminates your old sessions after 6 months. However, you can choose to get rid of the old sessions sooner in order to further boost security. Telegram has an upload limit of 2 GB per single file. It was one of the most valuable Telegram features I mostly loved. Telegram now allows you to add people who are near you. If the person on the other side has made his/her profile visible, you can see his/her name in the search. Just tap on the name to exchange contact info. Most people use third-party apps to make sure that no one gets a hand on their private conversations. Telegram, however, has its own lock function to hide privates messages behind a passcode. All usernames on Telegram have their own t.me/username links, making it easy to share public profile, group or channel anywhere on the internet. Every username will now have a new unique link format – username.t.me – for those who want to emphasize their name (or have trouble finding the / key).
